About the Gresswell Cluster projects

The Gresswell Cluster projects endeavour to:

•     provide students with meaningful learning experiences

•     increase levels of student engagement

•     allow for teaching and learning to extend beyond the confines of the classroom

•     challenge our students to make connections between subject areas

•     develop transferable skills.

The projects are vehicles for developing skills such as:

  • speaking
  • collaborating
  • comparing
  • listening
  • negotiating
  • contrasting
  • reading
  • mentoring
  • reflecting
  • writing
  • evaluating
  • measuring
  • researching
  • hypothesising
  • designing
  • communicating
  • analysing
  • creating
  • thinking critically
  • questioning
  • monitoring
  • recording
  • note taking
  • presenting

The projects can be aligned with the Victorian Essential Learning Standards and integrated and imbedded into existing curriculum, they need not be seen as “add ons” or “something else to fit in”. The projects can be integrated into disciplinary based learning areas such as English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and The Arts.

The list of projects is not exhaustive nor prescriptive.

Visit the Incubator if you have other ideas for projects that better meet the need of your students and/or can be better integrated into school programs.
